Colin McRae rally 4

i was wondering if any1 else as well has problems with sound. All i remember with CMR series is sound problems (even with the original creative drivers). Now i do not want to change back to them to be able to play that game.

if there are problems with the creative drivers as well, it may be a hardware problem, or more simply, a software problem
check for IRQ conflicts and move the sound card to a new PCI slot and then check for sound problems, but if the sound only has problems in that one game, i am guessing it is the game to blame

well changing PCI is imposible for me since i have a shuttle SB61G2. And yes i only have sound problems with CMR games.

Well I don't have a creative card- but the sound is all messed up in this game- it would be good- but the engine sound in the cockpit view goes back and forth between full left and full right about 50 times a second and had all kinds pops and snaps sometimes- Its very annoying and I think it's just because Codemasters sucks at making sound work well in games-

I have a Fortissimo III 7.1 and it works great with all other games. I think its' the games fault.

What kind of sound problems do you get, STAB? I've only played the demo, but it sounded okay there with kX. I never used anything but the standard view though.

Just for contrast.....it's playing perfectly fine on my rig. Smooth as butter and sounds great. I'm using whatever drivers Creative auto-updated me to and the Cat 4.1's.

This is OT, but I just gotta say it......I'm gettin' my 9800pro tomorrow!!

Just hope my old Antec PSU can handle it.

I would get it today, but I've been up for about 28 hours straight now and I'm in dire need of some sleep.....

It's will be a one-hour round trip to go after it and I don't feel like I should do any driving right now.
