gameport midi in problem,sticky notes

With the latest kx drivers, Sound Blaster Live 5.1 (model 0220 - I think) Logic 5.5.1, Im using the gameport as my midi input.

When I load any of the instruments and play them with my keyboard thru the gameport I get stuck notes. Its like Logic is receiving the midi note "on" but some of the note "off" are getting lost. This only happens when playing large chords or alot quick notes.

Ive tested this setup using my MidiSport 2X2 USB and the problem goes away so im pretty sure it is in the gameport.

Are they any settings or adjustments in KX or Logic that can address this?
Is the midi/gameport just not fast enough?
If I used the Live Drive midi in's are they any better?
I dont seem to have this problem using Cubase.

Thanks
Toad

Hi!

I don´t think there are better MIDI inputs than others (of course the levels may differ from device to device), cause of MIDI is a standard that completely works or not. I think it´s rather a software issue since you say that all is okay with cubase (or it seems like it is). Also there could be a system resource conflict (irq sharing). Try to move your card into an other slot or modify the resources manually, if it is possible.

Regards!
