Big Grin Bad results recording of new song?HOW?? ADVICE?pls

Hi , my friend and I:
1.connected MIC into mic-in,(put MIC into guitar)
2.played bass&drum pattern(.wav) in CMSOrganizer,
3.applied some effects 4 guitar in EAX (to mic)
3.set recording source to "What you hear",
4. pressed REC to record over D&B pattern and save it as a song BUT:

I know this isnt the right way to sound a guitar BUT sound quality was much poorer than what we could hear on speakers. WHY?
Also when playing guitar with MIC in it and saving what I play it is in lower quality than what I hear on my speakers. AGAIN WHY?
I am a a beginner and I dont know what is the right way to record a song instead of playing one instrument and playing with it simultaneously and save that as a song(many times), and each next time the sound is poorer.
What are the programs and WAYS to record a song using this card (to get near CD quality)???Please...

I have AUDIGY 2/Creative Drivers and INSPIRE T5400

Aahem...

first question: why you are using original creative´s drivers?

If you want to improve your recordings just try the kxdrivers from www.kxproject.com.
They have much more flexibility (but are slightly complicated compared to creative´s), offers you the whole functionality of your audio card and finally: they are free. If you want to try them, read all aboud advantages and disadvantages of kx - deinstall creative drivers completely (read about that also here) and install the last kx-driver package. If all is working then you will find yourself inside an other world of making music and sounds, believe me!

Cheers!
