??? Kx vs APS

Just wondering if anyone has used both the Kx and APS drivers. If so, is there any advantage to using the Kx instead of the APS driver in a WIN98SE system. I am currently using APS which is working fine. Now that we have a good explanation of Kx and WIN98 (Thanks Doug!!) I am wondering if there would be any advantage to switch.

Hi Tappy.

I've been usin APS drivers for a long time and really I like them. There are two main things for me about them: Good interface, (if I want to insert any effect into a channel, I just do it in the way you would do it in cubase, etc...). It's fast and clear. kX has got many more possibilities for routing (you can do almost whatever you want to do, APS cannot. Sometimes APS has problems with soundfonts (many bugs). kX's got them too, although every day it's getting better. APS don't. kX allows lower latencies than APS (I hardly could get 20 ms. with some plugins in APS, kX always allows me 10 ms. without problems).

So, in general, kX seems to me better, although I miss the APS interface.

Regards

Nando
