stupid question but i diden't see a answer on the forum
Noobie question, how do we do to record from mic or line with the kx Mixer.
thx for your help i am tryng everything.

Hi
It's explained in the help file
If you ain't got livedrive and plug mic in the rear of the card:
You have to understand that line in and mic/line (and green line out plus others on the card itself inside your machine) are managed by a codec called ac97
You can only record these ins separately or have a stereo mix
So you have to go in the ac97 page of the mixer to activate mic volume
and then go to ins and outs page. the slider down left labeled ac97 is master volume for all ac97 ins before sound goes to Emu10kx DSP.
PS.
In the recording page you also have an AC97 slider

thanks kato!!! this is just the sort of helpful example i was looking for!!! as you mentioned, this should have been easier to find, so crucial as it is. anyway, thanks again.

I have tried all os this, yet nothing seems to work. I'm trying to set MSN messenger up so the microphone on my headset works!
