explain this error pleaz.

every now and then i get this error (or something very similar):

KX ASIO
error creating input buffer #0:
eror= -105 [size1024] get host error []=2
virtual lock failed ("-5" bug)
compact your memmory and retry
Retry ?

and the 'yes' and 'no' options.

'yes' gives the same msg again. no closes the window.. opens the session and i get another error screen satating. :could not set sample rate. external sync (something similar). no sound.

then i have to restart the applet and it's mostly ok.

However two sessions almost alwaz refuse to open up. whenever launching they give met this error. They do however launch ok with the default MME drivers. and they also launch ok with an audiowerk ASIO diver/card that i juwt tried. SX rewired to Reason.

thank you.

Sidhu

(probably you use some quite old version of the driver, try to upgrade)

downloaded the latest version yesterday.. and it's working fine

but do tell me what the above error means. Im curious. My previous drivers were bout 6-8 months old.

Also, is it just me or do we see and increase in system resource usage with the new drivers ? i think the cliks/pops im hearing at 5ms with the current session were not there before.

And i suppose rear speaker out is now 3D L/R ?

and one more thing.. when i have my ASIO set to 5ms. does audio going inside actually have a latenct of 10 (5 for going in and 5 for cuming out..??? ) or is the same as it wud be using VSti's ????

thaks a ton..

>but do tell me what the above error means

:) basically that means that driver can't allocate the required amount of memory for its asio functionality (especially when all of kX's ASIO inputs/outputs - 16 + 16 - were active)...
Thi issue was completely solved at 29 or 30 version of the driver...

>And i suppose rear speaker out is now 3D L/R ?

That depends on "surrounder" module configuration.. to turn "surrounder" off set it to "5.1 direct path" or similiar (that will be equivalent of bypass)...

> does audio going inside actually have a latenct of 10 (5 for going in and 5 for cuming out..??? )

yes, it's 5+5
