There used to be a 7.1 sound system which could be digitally connected to this card.

FYI:

The CT4620 and CT4670 are the original Live and Live!Value respectively, both released in the fall 1998. CT4760 is the retail card released fall 99 that was sold under the Live!X-Gamer.

Thats an origanal SBlive and that card was relesed before even the sb live 5.1 . There fore its is impossable for it to a be a 7.1 card.

ok but i find also in kx guide for beginers that:
"The Epilog device is where all data eventually output. It consists out of 2 parts; the "real" ('physical') outputs, and the "sampler" (e.g. ASIO) outputs. The real outputs simply reflect all of the physical outputs (both analog and digital) on the Emu10kX chip. Note that the Emu10kX is capable of 4 stereo digital outputs (yes, the original Live!, and even the 512 PCI, are all 7.1 cards ). In order to take advantage of this fact without using a LiveDrive one can use the "AUD_EXT" connectors found on most 10kx cards (although some special knowledge and experience is generally required) .

What can it this mean?

Well, all that depends on what the one means with "7.1 card"... Yes even old lives have 10 independend outputs (4 analog + 6 digital)... does this mean "9.1 card"?

right, and "kx guide for beginers" did mean nothing more then just "X independend outputs"

in fact using kx you can use old lives as "7.1 card" but only if you have extrernal dacs for digital outputs (since kx itself does not limit multichannel rendering at all)
