hI,
after enjoying the genius of the Kx drivers on a very lame p3500 machine (on which cunt do much but managed to pull of an incredible ammount) i finally did go in for a new machine around a fortnight bak.
specs:
AMD athlon 2500+ barton 333FSB
MSI nforse2 mobo
maxtor HDD 7200rpm
Kingston Value ram 512 333FSB
Gforce2 dual head (still need another monitor though. Duh!)
previous machine
P3 450
some odd 256 ram
intel chipset some odd mobo.
soundcard : Live!value
OS : dual boot
Win ME running Nuendo 1.5.3
win XP running SX
now,
pleaz take a minute and understand my problem i hope i explain it clear enough.
this is how my routing is done :
Prolog : AC97 L/R out go in
Epilog ASIO 0/1
FX bus 0/1 out go in
Routing Wave L/R
routing out front speaker and rear speaker to their corresponding channel in the epilog.
Problem.
1. whatever i have i feeding the line in on the soundcard, plays directly through
the rear speaker output. This happens even when i clear the DSP (nothing
patched nowhere).
even if i mute the master sound fader in the KX mixer, i still hear sound through the rear speaker out. With this muted even other applications play bak audio.
however the mute line in the AC97 setup works
2. although the front speakers out plays only when routed through the host
and being monitored so.
while the rear speaker out plays what going in direct, whe i enable input monitor in the host, the levels go up.
this is the case with both OS and hosts.
3. i am very sure this was not occuring with my previous machine (including the
latency which was then nonexistent to my ears.)
also whe i first installed Win ME and Nuendo (to chek if i cud replicate the issue i was having with XP/SX) everything seemed to work fine the first time and i was relieved. But then while launchig Nuendo the second time i got the error 'cud not set samplerate, clok to external sync' and things were weired again. My clok is set to internal.
In SX i have been getting this error over 2 projects.
new machine. new problem.
any help wud be greatly appreciated. thank you.
