Mixing Down Midi To Audio Track In Sonar 2.2
i have asked this question before and only one person was kind enough to respond. however his suggestion didn't help because i already tried what he suggested. all i want to do is to mix down midi tracks recorded using gigastudio into an audio track in sonar 2.2. this was very easy using the creative drivers. you simply insert an audio track into sonar, arm the track and hit record. now when i try that i can see that the input in sonar is being received but it does not record anything in the audio track. using bounce to tracks only records dxi's or other audio, but no midi. i would really appreciate anyone who uses giga and sonar with kx drivers to respond to this post with a possible suggestion. or you can feel free to pm me. my system is 2.5 ghz processor 1 gig ddr ram, 128 mg video ram, windows xp gigastudio 2.54, sonar 2.2.
thanks for any help you can give. and by the way yes i have searched the forum, yes i have tried to find the answer myself through the dsp, mixer, in/outs in kx, and the router. i tried for weeks before i even asked the question.
thanks for greattttttttttttt drivers.

In wich mode you're working with Sonar?
Remember that if you're in ASIO mode, your project must be in 48KHz. Also check if the KX mixer - AC'97 page, the AC'97 input is in 'Stereo mix', and in the record page the AC'97 channel is on (set the sliders in 40 for a good input signal).
With this setup I was able to record about 32 channels of MIDI with soundfonts, I can't help you with Giga because it crashes my system soooo bad...

Thanks again for the reply. Yes I am using Sonar ASIO Mode. and I have my sample rate at 48khz. However I can't mixdown midi to audio in Sonar. I think it may be a routing issue. DK-1

According to the hand book that came with Sonar you can only mixdown softsinth(DXi), the other midi data you have to record to an audio track, so says their on line help and their coustomer support.

No, that is definately not correct. With Creative drivers I was able to mixdown midi tracks created with Gigastudio. The process was very simple: Insert an audio track (mono or stereo) arm the audio track and click record. If you only wanted certain tracks you could simply solo them. All I want to be able to do is arm an audio track and mix down my midi tracks. Thanks

I use Sonar 2.2 and can do what you are saying, do you have the audio engine off with the record button being used, are you sure the inputs are right in sonar, did you make the connections in DSP ?

Thanks for your reply. Yes the audio engine is on when I am in record mode. As far as my inputs in sonar I have all of the KX inputs selected. Is this not correct. Also can you please send me a snap shot of your DSP. I think my problem may be in the DSP. I have tried many many connections in the DSP and really have no idea which ones I need to accomplish this. Thanks again for your reply. Also are you using Gigastudio?
