Problems with headphones. Please help!

Greets,

I installed the KX drivers on my Creative Soundblaster Live card. This is linked to a Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 Subwoofer and 4 speaker system. To get my headphones to work on the Creative driver I used a splitter plug where the out lead from my soundcard goes into the back of the subwoofer. This I found powered my headphones (with built in volume control) and my speakers.

The aim being that I could turn my speakers off and listen through my headphones, when the wife is about. However, since installing the KX driver I cannot listen to my headphones until I turn up the volume of my speakers! Kind of defeats the object. What is happening now is the headphone volume is dependant on the volume level set by the knob controlling the sound level of my speakers. So to get sound into the headphones I have to get souns into the speakers!

Can anyone advise on this? Or am I stuck with the situation? If I am then I will have to revert back to the Creative drivers

~Carl
