Crackled Audio thru SBL! Plat (CT4760) in Sonar
An update:
Well, I ditched the Delta 44 and got a smoking deal on an echo MIA, tube preamp and a few mics in exchange.
*HOWEVER*
I can record into the Mia's 2 Analog Ins and Playback on the SB Live! Platinum (using kX project's latest driver), but the playback is distorted and "crackled". I've done a lot of searching on this, but all I've been able to find out deals with OEM SBL! cards, VIA Chipsets and recording into the SBL!. All three do not pertain to me (read below).
I'm using Sonar 2.0 XL to record. I've tried setting Ins for +4 and -10db. I've done all the Windows tweaks and checks (ACPI, DMA, disabling my 3Com NIC, reg stuff, etc). I've even got decent (I think) RapCo Insrument cables with the gold plugs.
As a matter of fact, if I export my tracks to MP3 or WAV and play them back through WinAmp, I don't get the crackles! So, is it something with Sonar or the SBL? Again, all audio sounds fine in Windows Media Player, WinAmp and Windows Sounds (which have been disabled)...
Read my sig for my system for reference.
Now, before I get slagged, you should know I'm not trying to record pro yet. I'm just trying to get down a few simple tracks using the resources I currently have. Eventually, I'll buy a little mixer and some reference monitors so I can use the SPDIF or 1/4" outs on the Mia, but for now, I have to make due with what I've got (ie. 1/8" black/green/orange jacks on the z640s thru SBL!).
That being said, thanks in advance for any suggestions!!
