Nice job though it is not possible to switch 48Kz sampling rate. IMHO KX sounds cleaner than original driver on my E-MU 1212M @ WinXP32. No clicks or crackling noted.

Actually I use kx driver 3538 on sb live card. Seeing me around to found a new soundcard I was interested to an e-mu 1212 card, but, with my great surprise I found that this card (as also the 0404, 1616, 1820) have the hardware support for soundfont BUT that is unused (disabled in emu drivers).

Now, these new resleases of KX driver allows to use soundfont synth hardware on the e-mu 0404, 1212, 1616 and 1820 cards?

hm... now i got problems installing latest version on vista 32 +4gb ram. 3-4 month ago it worked, but now doesn`t. Distorted loop or silence. Only thing changed is 4 gb ddr 667 to 4 gb ddr 800.

This guy forgot to tell that problem is only with MME/DirectX. ASIO works perfectly. Eugene wrote that only ASIO should work fine on Vista+4GB RAM, and wrote he don't know yet how to fix the problem with MME/DX.

But it's very stange that system Vista+4GB RAM that dtr installed some months ago still works fine with 4 GB RAM - all works fine ! And MME/DX also ! (I visited dtr last saturday and see it myself). But when trying to install KX on any other fresh Vista install (dtr tried it on different PC configurations) - MME/DX doesn't work until removing one 2GB RAM module

Eugene, how do you think - why KX (MME/DX/ASIO) still works fine on Vista + 4GB RAM installed few months ago, but doesn't works (only ASIO works) when trying to install KX on fresh Vista install ? We tried to install Vista from exactly the same CD, from which it has been installed few months ago, and this system still works - but it doesn't work on any fresh install. Any ideas ?

i am new to kx drivers, installed 3539 yesterday on AUDIGY 2 ZS NB, win xp, ibm t42 notebook. it worked fine, except i couldn't get mic input sound. tried 3545b now, after installation it tells "can't initialize sound card". what version of drivers will fit better my config?

Newer version is always preferred. This what you mention is a bug, it should work for A2 ZS NB.

I'm also using it now on Vista 32-bit. Live 5.1 Digital and E-mu 1212m. E-DSP needs me to use "reload firmware" after each restart to get sound to work on 0202. Otherwise it works great.

BTW, anyone heard from Eugene recently?

Make sure that Master Mixer is set as the default device for audio playback in the Windows Control Panel, and/or in your audio playback software (if it is not using the default device).

Well, it was a known issue with previous versions of kX and Vista, so maybe it has not been fixed yet? The workaround is to swap the connections between FxBus and xrouting in the DSP for FxBus 0/1 and FxBus 2/3 when listening to stereo only sources that use the wave driver.

I do not know, it seems likely that it is related to the same issue as before.
(BTW: I do not have Vista, so I have no idea what issues exist with it and kX, other than what is reported here).

The issue was that stereo (wave) audio in Vista always gets routed to Wave 2/3 instead of Wave 0/1. I guess that is still a problem? I do not know, I guess you need to ask E. about it.

In any case, with the default DSP config, only wave audio from Wave 0/1 (Master Mixer) is able to be upmixed (you would not want audio from the other wave devices upmixed since it would mess up 3D audio, etc), so with this issue, you would need to use the workaround in order to upmix audio from Wave 2/3 (but again, you should only do this when when listening to stereo only sources).

My idea would actually be that there is something wrong with the way kX is installed on 10k1 devices, or something like that, because that device would need to be created differently.

yes, vista dsp routing is not ideal - you may need to play with kxdsp routings to make it work in multichannel mode properly... don't forget the 'speaker setting' in Vista - it is no longer configured by kX automatically - you need to do this manually...

i am using the kxproject drivers in a car audio environment and have a hd radio input through the line in of my audigy 2 zs. i normally have the laptop go into standby and then resume when the car is turned back on. however the line in seems to be disabled when i resume from standby. if i go into the mixer and just reselect 'LineIn' from the analog source, the sound immediately comes back on. is there any way to do this automatically, or a script that can be done? i dont really have access to a keyboard or mouse on the computer to do this manually each time. any help is appreciated. thanks!

You can try and make a batch file that contains...

SetAC97Source.bat
What that does (when you execute the batch file), is sets the AC97 register that the 'AC97 Source' drop down selects in the kX Mixer AC97 Page.

thanks for the tip. unfortunately i tried it out, but it did not work. what would be the code to switch to 'mic' and then back to 'linein'? maybe that would work? by the way, i pasted the code into notepad and then saved as a .bat file, and then double clicked it to run it. it opened up a command window and then exited. is this the right way of doing it?

just to be clear, the drop down menu i am referring to is shown below. is that the ac97 one? thanks again!

Hmm - I have An A2ZS as well - but an SB0350 - and I see nothing in my mixer called 'Analog Source'.
I presumed you meant the dropdown on AC97 page of kXmixer called 'AC97 Source'.

I take it that is a note book A2ZS card (aka A2ZS NB or NZ)?

That dropdown, is not what I was referring to. And, I do not know how to control with kxctrl.exe... sorry. Its probably possible, but I dont think its AC97.

Perhaps some looking at kx Console and try some commands (-shw x) to figure it out...?? but its beyond me at this point. Sorry I cant be of more help, maybe some one else can..??
