Problem with home automation
Hello,
Just found this driver and it looks to be the ticket for my home automation system. I use server2003 and a Audigy card that didn't before work with the OS but the KX driver is working. One problem though, I need to be able to have a windows slider for main and wave as this is how the server controls volume thoughout the house. When I try to load the windows volume control/mixer the controls are grey'd out. I searched here but couldn't find a solution. Please help. thanks! |

kX Driver doesn't use the Windows mixer, BUT:
I used the version 3538 and I've found a kX DSP plugin named 'Master Volume Companion' here, in the forums. It does it's work: maps the Master slider to a volume control (simply a coefficient in DSP), and you can use as many of it, as you need (eg. 3 plugins for 5.1). Alternatively, if you can generate MIDI messages for it, you can use the kX Control from menu and build any reactions to almost any of MIDI messages. The first solution is more elegant, and kX DSP is a simple thing.. Much more simple than an automated home

Oh, almost forgot: if 2003S is too silly to present you a slider in it's own mixer, the MIDI solution can be yours. In 3538 it sometimes kicked off my kX Mixer (XP pro) and i had to restart it and loose my last settings..
