supports laptop chips that are "software upgradeable" to audigy?
Hello, I was just wondering:
The Dell Online Store: Build Your System Dell offers a sound upgrade to: "Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy HD Software Edition" on their laptops... this seems to imply they just give you drivers\software package from creative. Does this mean that the integrated chips are audigy based and will work with kX audio drivers?

AFAIK, that is nothing more than software that emulates some of the features of an Audigy card, and thus it would not work with the kX driver.

This is one of the nonsense Dell features. Donīt let them fool you! If you want to get a real Audigy, you have to get an Audigy2ZSNotbook. But I fear, that is not compatible with your new Laptop - itīs PCMCIA only.
