No sound at all with Audigy ZS 2
May be this is a dumb question, but I´m a newbie to the kx drivers... I had a lot of troubke with crackling and popping using the Creative drivers with my Audigy ZS 2, thus I moved. I installed the kx, I chose them as default, rebooted... when the system starts I get sound, however it seems that when the drivers get completely loaded, I don´t get any sound at all...
Any recommendations on settings and the like? I feel a complete dumb with this (I believe) simple step. Thanks!

Uncheck the Swap Front and Rear option in kX Mixer, and use the Speaker Setup applet (in kX Mixer) to configure your speakers.

You mean the setup in "ins and outs" in the mixer?

That just worked for me too. I notice the quality isn't the same as the Creative? Maybe it needs some tweaking?
Ah, its because I'm not getting any base and center. How do I get my sub-woofer working? I search the forums

In the Speaker Setup applet there are options to enable the subwoofer output, and enable Bass Redirection, etc.
Also, in the DSP window, double clicking on a plugin opens the tweak window for those plugins that are adjustable. Try adjusting settings in there (i.e. 10BandEQ, etc).
Beyond the above, read the guides to get a basic understand of the DSP, and then you will be able to create your own custom configurations to better suit your needs and/or personal preferences, etc.

How can I access the command line? I'm having the same problem as http://www.driverheaven.net/general-...rk-silent.html
and Eugene tells him to:
Quote:
now, execute from the command line:
kxctrl -gac97 7c
kxctrl -gac97 7e
kxctrl -gac97 2a
and post the resulting numbers
/E
and
kxctrl -sac97 2a 0
|
I think this is my problem, but I'm not sure how to access the command line. I've already enabled subwoofer output and bass redirection.

That is not your problem (that was a long time ago (2003)).
In any case, kxctrl.exe is what you would use (as above), or just open kX Console (from the kX context menu), and issue the commands (without the "kxctrl -").
Beyond the above, do you have a discreet subwoofer (i.e. has its own connection to the sound card)?
How are you testing the subwoofer output? Did you try the (speaker) Test button in kX Mixer?

lol, nevermind sorry. The Bass sounds awesome in the speaker test, and the center works too.
BUT,
It's just not working with my music, and probably games (haven't tested a game yet), but I'm not getting any sound from the sub and center with the songs I've played. The right and left work though.

Regular music does not have a sub channel (i.e. it is stereo only), so you need to do upmixing to derive the center and sub channels. Enable Bass redirection in Surrounder (the Speaker Setup applet), and adjust the frequency as desired.
Also, make sure that the default device in the Windows Control panel is kX Wave 0/1.

Set the frequency and I love it thanks. It's too bad Creative is lousy with updates, but these drivers are just fine. Now I'm wondering if anyones been able to simulate EAX 3.0 ?
But I'm hoping I wont have to change the wave 'x/y' when I use other media.

Wave 0/1 is the only one that is multi-channel capable (well WaveHQ is too, but until you understand how WaveHQ works, stick with Wave 0/1), and with the default DSP config, it is the only one that can be is upmixed.
