a2value, a4, zsnb users - please test!
hi
users of sb0400, sb0530, sb0610 (audigy 2 value, audigy2 zs notebook, audigy 4 [not PRO]) - could you please test this new kx.sys with your system? any user who is running DEV_0008 device (PCI ID) is encouraged to participate [except E-mu owners, of course]
kx-3541b.zip
please use 3541, install it, after that unzip the file to windows/system32/drivers, turn off your computer (not 'reboot' or 'hibernate', but true shut down), wait 20-30 seconds, reboot after that
--
please check:
* if 10kX DSP is working properly (in general, everything should work without errors except Wave HQ device, which is not yet supported for your cards)
* check AC-3 bypass mode (if you can), check AC-3 spdif decoding option, check direct SPDIF recording
* check volume levels, output assignments
[known issues on ZS Notebook might still be there: clicks on playback start, noise instead of playback on certain hardware configurations, mic/line switch is reversed]
In order to implement p17v support (which is similar to p16v), I've modified several p17v registers, but I'm not sure it was done properly, because I currently cannot test any of these devices...
--
other Audigy2 users are also encouraged to participate - please report if you find any issues compared to the original 3541 build...
E.

As far as I can say for now: SPDIF Out reflects the Front Analog Out Signal, all other outputs, analog and digital, produce no SPIDF signal. This is the same with both the original and new .SYS file. On A2ZSNB the sound completely diappeared after few minutes... Further testing tomorrow (hopefully)

The direct SPDIF recording works well, A2ZSNB gets its signal from CD_SPDIF and A2Value gets its signal from Coaxial input.
BUG: Reloading a *.kx settings file mutes the wave-slider on A2ZSNB kx-mixer page and so mutes all wave sounds. Unmuting the slider and setting it to a proper level re-enables all sounds.

Using Foobar2000 and Direct Streaming plug in i get a little scratching, have to increase play back buffer size to fix it.

The analog outputs on A2Value SB0400 are mapped correctly, Analog Front appears on green output, Analog Rear appears on black out and Analog Center/LFE appears on orange out. The same for A2ZSNB. The additional analog out on A2ZSNB I cannot check.

Hi,
I tested with my audigy 2 zs nb connected to xbox 360 optical
output! Unfortunatelly dolby digital still does not works(cracking), but digital stereo signal works!!
I hope you can fix this problem!

Guys, thank you for running the tests!
---
TravelRec:
So, all the inputs/outputs are mapped correctly both on ZSNB and A2Value, direct spdif recording works fine, SPDIF and analog outputs and inputs are enabled and behave as on any other Audigy2 device -- correct? (If you have an external AC-3 source, can you try 'AC-3 SPDIF-in decoding' feature?
"The additional analog out on A2ZSNB I cannot check": due to routing issue or lack of connector? You can send FXBUs 0,1 -> Epilog i2s.2 output. But you need a special physical connector with additional rings...
Can you check the other SPDIF outputs (not Front one, but read etc..?) They are located on the 'Digital Out' jack (If I remember properly, this is not possible on ZSNB, because there's only one optical spdif out, while A2 Value should have 3 SPDIF outputs on the 'orange' jack.
====
AC-3 passthrough and xbox 360:
Please check SPDIF/I2S Status in kX Mixer, copy-paste its output when trying to perform AC-3 passthrough. If you have any other 10k1/10k2 device by hand (with p16v, not p17v), compare your results with it.
Try to connect A2ZSNB in loopback mode (optical input <-> optical output), and try AC-3 playback. Capture SPDIF/I2S status for this scenario.
E.

I am not sure that is correct. I think the A2 Value and A4 use a Digital I/O jack instead of Digital Out (i.e. Digital In and Digital Out from same jack (via Creative® Digital I/O Module) instead of the 3 Digital Outs like on some other models).
i.e.
Info from Creative Labs KB (Solution ID # 5764).
Quote:
Stereo SPDIF Digital Out
The cards include Sound Blaster X-Fi series, Sound Blaster Audigy 4, Sound Blaster Audigy Value and Sound Blaster Audigy SE.
It is a stereo SPDIF digital out jack. It supports stereo SPDIF Out to Stereo Digital Speakers only, or sends compressed AC3 signals to an external decoder.
This jack is also called a FlexiJack because it can be used as Digital Input jack, a Microphone Jack or a Line-In jack.

Analog seems to be correct. But SPDIF out has no separate output register, it shares the analog FRONT output signal, so if a source is connected with analog FRONT, then there is the same signal on SPDIF out. Is a source connectet to digital FRONT, there is no signal on SPDIF out. This is on both cards SB0400 and SB0530.

It´s due to lack of a connector No idea to get one soon.

No A2Value SB0400 has only one SPDIF out on the orange jack, plus one SPDIF in, ground and +5V. This is a 4-pole jack.

a-ha, ok, thank you! : )
I don't know if this analog-digital correspondence is due to hardware design or driver misconfiguration...
I wonder if I have enough time to implement p17v support (24/96 HQ device on A2Value and A2ZSNB - they are using 10k2.5 engine, which is not documented, and p17v chip, I have its datasheete, but it is incomplete, and its architecture is not very convenient for ASIO)

There seems to be something wrong with the routing on the new drivers.
On 3539 everything seemed to work fine on my SB0400 (I mean 5.1 sound) but after uninstalling and upgrading to 3541 I only get 2.0 sound (the settings in the surrounder seemed to be ignored completely, only the 'mute' button worked in there).
I tryed the updated kx.sys driver version 3541b but this hasn't changed anything.
Only workaround that seemed to help it to mess up the routing to the xrouter :
"FxBus 4/5 to the top 2 pins of xrouting (instead of where it is currently connected)" that did the trick, but I think it's still a bug that needs correction.

Audigy 2 Value
Hi, I just test this out, and here are my results
As far as SPDIF and the xbox 360, stereo works fine. If you put the xbox on dolby digital however, you get distortion/crackling on the speakers. If you toggle the SPDIF-in AC-3 Decode, you'll either hear the crackling or nothing. If you need more tests run with getting SPDIF working on dolby digital, let me know. I really wanna get this thing working, haha.
