KX driver + Soundblaster + Realtek on-board?
Hello,
I would like to know if it would work out allright to run my PC with both a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Platinum (SB0060 5.1) and my onboard sound card (ADI - AD1988b - HD Audio) enabled? If so would I be able to control which card each application use to output sound? E.g. iTunes would use the onboard, while Cubase would use Soundblaster (ASIO with no latency). How would this work out with the KX project drivers installed for the Soundblaster and Soundmax drivers for the onboard card? Right now I have disabled the onboard card in bios settings. The reason for asking this instead of just trying is that I had quite a hassle to get the Soundblaster working with KX in the first place and I don't want to waste my efforts. Thanks TheDoogster Windows XP Pro SP2 Q6600, Asus P5e3 Deluxe |

Yes, you should be able to do as you describe (provided your system has the available IRQ's, etc). Windows (i.e. Windows sounds) and any programs that do NOT let you choose which sound card to use, will use whichever one is set as the default in the Windows Control Panel.
