Absolutely Stumped..

Hi guys, long time kX user, but a new poster!

I've never had problems with kX at all until I recently wiped the PC clean and installed Vista (32-bit). I installed the Creative drivers for my Sound Blaster Audigy ZS 2 and was not pleased with hearing static in my sound, so I thought I would go back to kX since I had no issues with the drivers on XP. I'm fully aware of Vista not having full support (or much at all, to that point) but I decided to go ahead and try kX with Vista. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get past the constant buzzing/static/noise I get. I've tried everything!

I completely wiped the Creative drivers from existence and the sound card does show up as kX in Device Manager. The game port doesn't work (as I've read it "shouldn't") as well. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall multiple times and recieve the same issue. After a nice reboot there's absolutely no sound at all. Even if I start Winamp and play something there is absolutely no sound. The second I open kX Mixer and touch a setting such as "Toggle 'Swap Front and Rear' Mode," as that was my last action, I get the static. Even after I change the setting back to what it was before the static. The static usually doesn't stop until about five seconds after I stop the music/sound.

I've attempted to search and read everything and I just can't figure out a solution. Though, since I didn't get too far past the installation process, I'm sure someone has had this issue before. Depending on the settings I mess with, the frequency/pitch/tone changes a bit, but there's still no recognition of anything I'm playing.

Also, according to Windows Sound (Note: I'm not attempting this to change settings, but just to see what it's telling me I'm using), I can't seem to get the recording off of "Wave In". I'm not sure if that's related to this issue or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! A buddy of mine turned me onto these drivers a long time ago and I'd like to continue to use them .

Edit: Ah, I figured out a good way to explain the sound. Have you ever been in the middle of something, whether it's playing a game or just listening to music and your computer suddenly locks up and the sound locks up, just repeating the last thing you heard over and over and over? Yeah, it sounds like that, minus I don't freeze though.

EDIT: Wow, ever post something and fix it about five minutes later? Hm.. Well, I believe I fixed it. I look under the sound properties in Windows and disabled "Wave-In". Though that didn't do anything, I happened to right click and saw the "Show Disabled Devices" and I did that for Playback as well (not just in the recording tab). I saw a few more things pop-up in Playback, the last one being "Wave Out HQ", which is the one that appears to be working for me at the moment. Any idea what's up with that? =/
