Hi, I've got the spdif out connected to my Sony 5.1 reciever but I only get stereo! Is it possible to get surround in games using SB Live 5.1 ? Or do I need to connect new analog pc speakers to my soundcard?
When watching DVD's I can get more than 2 speakers active!
Why wont my reciever output surround, when pc speakers will???
Thanks
generic spdif connection can handle stereo signals only
(unless you are using special 'miniDIN' connectors)
so, I suggest you connect your speakers via 'analog', or try tweaking 'Surrounder' effect -- it can 'encode' Dolby Prologic-like data for your 5.1 speakers to decode it
