I/O Box for Audigy Not Working ?
I've got an Audigy eX Platinum that has never worked correctly with the Creative drivers (card not detected)... so I'm very pleased with these kX drivers (ver 5.10.0.3531)... had no trouble getting the card running under WinXP... however it seems that the external I/O box doesn't work at all.
I've read through the forums but I'm not seeing anyone commenting directly on the I/O box functionality. Should it be working with the kX drivers? So far I've got 4 channel analog output from the jacks on the main sound card. I cannot test the digital out from there because I do not have the proper cable (1/8-inch). I'd like to use the co-axial (RCA type) digital out that is provided on the I/O box... but so far no joy.
Is it supported? Am I just missing something? Any replies or suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA
Been reading and experimenting some more...
I've got an early SBLive CT4620 with the digital daughter-board ... so I've removed the Audigy I/O box and connected the daughter-board ... lo and behold I've got digital output from the Audigy through the co-axial outs! This rocks. Now... why won't the I/O box function when it's connected to the Audigy ( or even the CT4620 or a CT4830... I've tried 'em all! )
Thanks again for any suggestions.

the Audigy Ex's external drive might require special initialization
at the moment, we cannot guarantee it to work
any internal live drives and audigy drives should be fully functional
3532 release will support Audigy2 Platinum Ex's external drive

So support may be coming for the Audigy 2 External Drive... but not for the Audigy 1? Well... while I'd love to have the functionality of the external I/O box... I certainly can't complain! The kX driver package has allowed me to actually use my Audigy card... instead of having it just sit on a shelf.
Creative should be ashamed of themselves... for providing ZERO value in their support of the Audigy 1, for their LOUSY installers and for their LOUSY XP support.
Kudos to the kX driver team for showing that quality drivers for this card ARE possible. Thanks for the drivers and for your reply!

This is really opposed to previous Platinum eX expirience.
If I remember correctly, Audigy Platinum eX has an additional card that is installed together with Audigy in the computer. Can you give us some photos of it? They might help to support it...

Pics coming soon!
Sure... I was reluctant to pull the cards back out since I finally had most things working pretty smooth... but I'm going to make some changes to my systems this weekend... one machine is getting an overhaul and clean XP install... I'll post some scans of all the boards in the next couple of days. Hopefully they'll be of some use to you!

Hi @all!
I just found a post about this kx drivers in a german news-board and it sounds really quite interesting !
But I am owner of an Audigy 1 Platinum Ex as well. And I don“t want to miss the functions on the external I/O Device.
So, just a simple question:
Will there be a support for the external I/O Device of the Audigy 1 Pl. Ex in the future ? And what about the Firewire support (Need it for my DV-Camcorder) ?
Nevertheless, great work !!

firewire should be functional because it uses different set of drivers (that are not kX-related)
supporting audigy platinum ex isn't an easy thing simply because we don't have it -- and the board seems to require some special initialization in order to function...
we could apply to Creative for providing us with such information, but we've never had any success negotiating with them and haven't received -any- information up till now (they ignored our requests)...
