problems with kx: no sound or sound and system stop responding

Hi,

I am new to this forum and so I don't know if I have placed this in the right category. I have been unable to to get kx driver to work on my computer. When I install kx driver I either get no sound at all or I get sound and the whole system slows down until it stops responding. I had Windows XP Professional to begin with with the same results. The reason I changed to Vista was because I was also experiencing problems with the display adapter due to some bugs in that version of windows and so I thought that might also be the reason for my kx problem. Since Vista took care of the display problem I hoped it would do the same for kx. I thought there might be a conflict between the soundcard and something else but it does not appear the case. I've tried moving the soundcard to a different pci slot without any result. Before I got this computer I used the E-mu soundcard on a pentium III, 450Mhz processor with 256 MB memory. I had kx driver version 3537b and it worked like a charm...If anyone can help me out and shed some light on this problem I would greatly appreciate it! I'm getting desparate!
