Virtual MIDI Cable

I use Band in a BOX. It only allows the use of one driver. I would like to use a virtual midi cable out of BIAB to access a soft synth and the synth on my 5.1 card. Anyway to do this?

Just Google it !

I think MIDI Yoke, part of the MIDI Ox family is the current favourite.
It gives you 8 virtual MIDI ports. I've been using it for awhile.

Misunderstanding. I have Midi yoke and Maple. What I need to know is a way to route into KX synth. I can't seem to find a way.

Seeing as how it looks like BIAB is not ASIO - using a SW synth with it would be high latecy anyway. But I though KX MME driver was sharable between applications??

What I suggest is exporting/importing the MIDI into a VST capable DAW like sonar or cubase - and use VSTi synths in the DAW. BIAB's audio engine is pretty lame anyway - its strength is its MIDI / styles/ Soloists etc..

OR - configure BIAB to use non-KX audio device (so it wont try to share with the stand alone synth your trying to use). If the SW synth is a VSTi only - you'll need to use a VST host anyway (might as well just export the MIDI)

Then theres 'Virtual Audio Cable' - that may work for you.. Not sure what kind of latency to expect - high I imagine.. ??

Additionally:
You could use a VST-DX 'wrapper' (so you can directly access a VSTi - like a DXi in BIAB. Cakewalk used to make one.. Just make sure it works for VSTi (the 'i' is for instrument btw, as in it needs to be able to route midi as well as audio)

Surely, it's misunderstanding. If you got MidiYoke, there must be MidiOx in installation package (otherwise, it could be downloaded from midiox.com; did you get midiyoke from some other place?). Install it; then start midiox and choose any of eight midiyokes (let it be midiyoke1) as In port and choose kX Synth and any other midiyoke (let it be midiyoke2) as Out ports.
Then if you out MIDI data to midiyoke1 in BiaB and receive MIDI input from midiyoke2 in your softsynth... isn't that what you need?

Or - simply tell BIAB to use KX Synth for its MIDI OUTPUT...
(this is the most obvious to me, but maybe is over looked by OP..??)
No need for midi yoke - just load a SF bank in KX mixer (like a General Midi (GM), or a GS one)

KX Synths ARE after all, a windows system midi device, accessable from most any application that can deal with midi.
