kX's speaker test depends on DirectSound no longer present in Vista (hense the test does not work there).
Same for ASIO (it is also uses some intefaces no longer being in MSV) > i have set as 4.1 don't know if is ok for gaming or not, Whatever setting that suites your own ears is OK (isn't it?) |

I have the same problem with 5.1
But my problem is that Windows Vista does not allows me to turn the speakers to 5.1 so that games like CS:S also does not allow me to do this. Now I have to play in stereo I hope the next release will come soon I my case I can upmix, but it seems that I cannot get real surround-support by OS |

I am not able to get the driver to upmix to 5.1. My onboard Soundmax can upmix to 5.1 in Vista (although it sounds like utter c**p). The kX driver (for my Audigy 2 ZS) for some reason won't upmix. I know Vista is capable of it, but the driver doesn't seem to be able to do it for some reason.

>The kX driver (for my Audigy 2 ZS) for some reason won't upmix
that's definitely strange - kX's upmixing capability is not OS dependend (it will work even in DOS :) - so just make sure you're doing everything right (e.g. in kxmixer, set the number of speakers to desired value, turn on surround mode ("on/copy") and ensure you're using "kX Wave ... 0/1" as your output device) |

DirectSound in Winamp won't work
Hello,
I can't find this information, but why does my DirectSound hardware mixing not work with my Audigy 4? See this image http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/5043/winampeb3.jpg |

Only the plugin+console command+synth slider workaround exists for the old tuner problem.
The line in + microphone compatibility the weakest point in kx for me too. I dont see any sign from developers that they would solve that issue. My situation even more difficulty, because I often use tv tuner and microphone also, so if I want to watch TV I have to set AC97 source to LineIn in kxmixer, and when I want to use my microphone I have to switch it back to Microphone. So, before I want to use either of them, I have to switch that option. ![]() |

With ProFX ADC plugin, you can make a custom DSP setup and use Line in and Mic at the same time. Have you tried to do that?

Not yet.
I try to figure out how this workaround works, but I dont see a clear howto about that. I found the How KX can Make LineIn and MicIn selected Automaticly topic, but I dont know which method is good for me, and how I get missed plugins, like Gain, Stereo Mix, Stereo Mix + Gain. |

Hi smyle.
I'll try to suggest a simple DSP setup that you can try. Clear DSP, load 1 instance of ProFX SRC and set it to FXBus 0/1 (it should already be set to that), Load ProFX ADC plugin (set one of the Record Sorce channels to Mic, the other to Line In and turn the slider up), load ProFX MX6 or MX8, and Load k1lt or k2lt (depending on if you have an Audigy or SB Live). Connect the SRC and ADC (AC97l and AC97 right) to the MX6 or MX8 Channels 1 and 2 (and make sure channel 1 and 2 sliders are all the way up and for the ADC channel (and Record source channels in ADC GUI), and you check mark E, R, and M boxes and for SRC channel in MX6 GUI, and ckeckmark E and M boxes in MX6/MX8 GUI), connect the MX6/MX8 MainL and MainR to k1lt/k2lt out1l and out1r (which is the front speakers by default), and connect MX6/MX8 Recl and RecR to k1lt/k2lt out8l and out8r (WinMM recording by default). Now, the Mic and Line In should work.

OK, wanted to see how that would turn out. Forgot to mention that both Mic and Line in would be a mono signal on L an R channels.
Teamspeak should work if you have the E, M, and R buttons enabled in MX6/MX8 for the ADC channel and you have to connect the MX6/MX8 RecL and RecR to the k2lt out8L and out8R (which should be WinMM Recording by default). If this doesnt work, sorry. You can go back to your old setup. Maybe someone else will try to help.

Thank you!
It seems, after lot of rerouting Im closer to the solution. Now my DSP looks like this (hope you can see it): http://media.proxnet.hu/upload/20070...303044572.jpeg In ADC GUI I switched sources to Line, in its mixer I turned on Mic, +20, UDA. I routed its AC97 outputs to VolumeSt plugin, where I can set its volume via Synth windows slider (necessary for changing volume from tv tuner app). VolumeSt outputs routed to MX8. ADC UDAs outputs routed to MX8 too. SRC (FXBus 0/1) plugin routed to MX8. In MX8, the 3 channels volume sliders turned to maximum. Here, at the microphone channel, turned the Main switch to Off, and Record to On. Defaults are Main: On, Record: Off. So I dont hear msyelf back. MX8 main channels routed to k2lt upper 2 pins. MX8 rec channels routed to the last 2 k2lt pins. Finally I can use Teamspeak with my Mic whilst I can hear Tvtuner, and dont have to switch any sound options, when I close tv tuner app, it mutes synth slider, and dont hear my mic voice back neither. But unfortunately the master mixer sliders dont works anymore ![]() So I cant set master volume neither from my keyboard ![]() Any suggetions? Quote:

I was hoping a light would turn on and you could figure out something from the example DSP setup I suggested.

Unload k2lt and load Epilog. Find the same connectors on Epilog that you were using on K2lt (analog front and WinMM Recording=RecL/RecR on Epilog) and connect the same MX8 conectors you were using to those connectors on Epilog. You should be able to control the master volume now with the multi-media keyboard volume control.

Just 2 things: Is the 'Mic' input jack at the back of an Audigy2 (SB0240) card mono-only? If I plug a stereo mic into that input,I just get a dual mono signal of the left channel.
Also, are the UDA outputs (of the ProFX ADC plugin) actually working with the SB0240 card? I can't get any output out of those 2 UDA pins.I also can't get the second VU meter in the ADC plugin to show any signal. I want to record in 24/96 (p16v) mode with this card (from line-in) using the _UDA_ codec. Does the AC97I2S switch actually work with SB0240 cards? I'm using the latest 3538m drivers. the mic input is mono on almost all soundcards, regardless of manufacturer
you should be able to use the UDA inputs on that card - i haven't seen any problems previously with the line in to I2S switch not working on fully supported 10k2 boards

You can try and make a little adapter for the analog CD in (aux), you will get stereo ac97 input that way, i think... correct me if I'm wrong.

1. 'Line In' is stereo and works well,I was asking about the 'Mic In' input (not that I will use this low-quality input for recording, but it's useful for apps like VoIP).I assumed it was mono, just needed confirmation.
2. Is it possible to make an adapter for the 'CD SPDIF' input on this card to accept coaxial or optical input? 3. I don't know what's the problem, but it seems the UDA doesn't work.I'll post some screenshots of the current settings. Last edited by nakamichi; Mar 15, 2007 at 05:57 PM. |

Ok, hi I posted this on bugs thread but was suggested to post it here...
Ok... sorry about the noob bash in advance... I got a E-Machines E4076 tower with a ATI X300 graphics card installed including my beloved Creative 5.1 Live! sound card. I have windows vista Business installed. At first I tried the NGO drivers. They worked but only gave me 2.1, I was told to try the KX drivers. And they are amazing. I get all 5.1 working fine on vista. woop ...But! It is really temperamental! It seems to be if I leave the computer without playing any sounds, the driver will stop working and I will get no output. Also if I play music and close it and start a game the sound card will die. I have to have music CONSTANTLY playing for the sound card not to die on me. The only way I have been able to get them to work again is to Hibernate the computer or restart. (Which takes bloody ages!) I am currently using the Beta at the moment (Version: 5, 10, 00, 3538 - debug) Ideas? |
