Subwoofer and middle speaker issues

Under 5.1 surround, I don't get any sound from the middle or subwoofer. 4.1 seems to work. The card is an Audigy 2 ZS. What am I doing wrong? I'm REALLY new at this so be gentle

Thank you

It seems that kX did not detect your card correctly (shows that it is using the kX Generic driver).

First thing I would do is to reinstall kX (do a full uninstall first, using the kX installer and DriverCleaner), and see if it detects your card correctly. Once installed correctly, make sure that Windows is set to 5.1, and then setup your speakers in kX using the kX Speaker Setup (Surrounder) applet.

Uninstalled, cleaned and reinstalled. Still shows it as using the generic driver..but all the speakers work under 5.1 so...I guess it's kinda fixed.

Hmm, Are you sure that you have an Audigy 2 ZS?
What is the specific model# of your card (i.e. SB0xxx)?

<edit>
I am guessing that this is an OEM model. The only reference that I could find to a similar model (PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0004&subsys_10001102&REV04) is in the following thread from the Creative Labs forum (where it seems that they were unable to get it to work correctly with their drivers): http://forums.creative.com/creativel...cending&page=1

As with other OEM models (if in fact it is an OEM model), although it may work with kX, it is not supported.

It looks like eeprom of the card is corrupted (and when it is, card reports a sort of default ID - 1000). This should not actually cause any problems with kX (for A2 models at least).
