Is there any way of renaming the midi ports?

If I wanted to rename my midi ports, for example, from "Sb0244 Uart2 out (bla bla, whatever)" to "My midi port2", how could I achieve this? would it be easy or impossible? Should i modify the registry or the inf file?

Thanks.

i think no, there's not. you can edit those names in registry (somewhere in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet) but driver changes them back on each load (afaik, these predefined names are important for proper kX's functionality). Names in inf file have no real meaning too.
