Which drivers for Vista?

Hi, I've been browsing and searching these forums for almost an hour now, but it's very confusing, I've seen "great Vista support, thanks!" and "doesn't install on Vista" posts alike.

I just want to ask if anyone has succesfully installed the gameport on a SB Live 5.1 on Vista, as I need it for my midi piano. And if so, does ASIO work on Reason, and which drivers have you used?

Thanks in advance!
And congratulations on the whole kX project. It has saved my life literally

Cheers!

I've just installed Vista Ultimate, and 3538l and it can't install my MIDI/joystick port which I need for sequencing. Any ideas please?

Thanks!

try using the original CL gameport drivers - doing this should not affect the use of kX at all

Yes, but then I won't be able to use my gameport as MIDI controller with ASIO for my piano...

Max M. will become famous soon enough

why do you think so? gameport and midiport are completely independend of each other (despite they share the same connector). Joystick driver does not affect MIDI port at all and Audio/MIDI driver for one's turn does not care of the gameport.

As for Vista, no ASIO for it yet - so if you need kX you're jumping there too fast (unless the problems with drivers/apps is your main intend)

So, in WinXP, I stick my MIDI cables into SB Live's gameport and use it with ASIO. In Vista the gameport will not install (kX). So that's out of the question.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated!
