??? Export Audio Mixdown in Cubase error

When I click on "Export Audio Mixdown" in Cubase a window pops up saying there was an error. Nothing else happens. I am thinking this might be a problem with the Kx drivers cause it worked fine before I installed them.

I have reinstalled Cubase SX but that didn't help. I have also installed all the Cubase updates. I don't know what else it could be.

Has anybody else had this problem?

thanks.

I just installed Nuendo 1.6 and the same error popped up. its an "unknown" error and it tells me to check the log.

I think I'll try the creative drivers and see if it happens with them. If it doesn't then it's probably a Kx driver issue.

I hope its not though cause I love these drivers!

It happened to me when I selected the song in the wrong order. There are two little markers you have to use to select the region you want to export. Sometimes I'd put the last one in front of the first one (by mistake) and I got that error. Try changing the order of those two markers and see what happens.

Ok. I just fixed this problem!!

So happy.

I looked at the Cubase error log and "lameACM.acm" kept showing up. So I searched for it and it was in system32. I removed it and now everything works great!

Its seems like it is used for audio compression or something. Maybe it got installed with my divx programs. hmmm...

Anyways, removing it solves the problem.

hmm....LAME is an mp3 encoder. and it also happens to be the *best* mp3 encoder.

if you're encoding to mp3, you should use it.
