Subwoofer Problems
Today I installed the KX Drivers 3538k, because i wanted to test them (I don't like the Creative Drivers because of the bad performance).
I have a 5.1 Loudspeaker System and because of that I need Bassredirection. I set it to on in the Mixer Menu and I set the Split frequency to 120. And now my Problem. The KX Driver doesn't only send the 0-120HZ to the Subwoofer. It sends every Frequency to the subwoofer and that sounds horrible. How can I fix this? IS your cpeaker system a TRUE 5.1 system with a dedicated input for the Sub? -or is the sub just filtered away from the sats? similar to a 4.1 or 2.1 set...the bass redirection should work fine..

Its a true 5.1 System with an independent Sub Input. The Bass Redirection works but the Driver doesn't limit the frequency spectrum to max. 120HZ meaning it gets the same as the other speakers which doesn't sound very well.
//EDIT: I reinstalled the Driver and now it works .I want to say something else. At first I tried the 3537 Driver and while the installation it didn't ask me for a device and now driver was installed afterwards. But now it works.

The subwoofer redirection works now for music but not for Games. When I play games the Bass redirection doesnt work. Only the 5.0 speakers work and the subwoofer doesnt get signals. Does somebody know how to enable the Bass redirection everywhere?

I think I know why KX doesn't redirect the bass from games to the subwoofer. KX only takes the bass from 0,1,2,3 but the Wave Channels (Front Left,Right and so on) start at 4,5. KX doesn't redirect the sound from that channels to the subwoofer, Can I do it somehow with the DSP Manager?

Thats if I had a discrete sub woofer that is. IE as opposed to it 1 connection to sound card and speaker system crossing over the lows to its sub-woofer internally to the speaker system. But thats just me... But maybe its a start.. ?? |

Keep in mind...I couldnt test it and you may need to tweak it - thus its STRONGLY recommended you learn to do this stuff in KX DSP as this is where the power of KX driver shines... edit:> youll notice I have an A2 (10K2 DSP) which has almost double the resources than the 10K1 chips - and you prolly wont be able to make this SAME config with a LIVE card. <end edit: good luck. |
