SBLive 5.1 rear out puts
I am new to the forum but have used KX for some time. This is not a new problem per say but just something I realised. There is no sound coming from the actual physical rear output on my card. If I route, in DSP, the synth to front out I get sound from the physical front. If I route, in DSP, to the rear and check swap front and rear againe the sound comes out of the front physical outputs. Is this what's supposed to happen? I can never set the config. to output to the rear. The rear outputs are supposed to have better sound.
PS I just use KLT1,FXMIX2,SRC. It might have something to due with being setup for 2 speakers not 5.1

With the DSP you have set up, just double click the K1LT (or right click it and choose TWEAK). Then change the output you are using from FXMIX2 to K1LT from ANALOG FRONT OUT to REAR OUT. Then move your speaker to the REAR Output.

yes, however I see that you have front analog selected. Do you get sound out of the rear jack on the card?

What specific (SB0xxx) model card do you have, and what version of kX are you using?
From the kX context menu, choose 'About...', click on the 'Copy to clipboard' button, and paste that info here.
There is a known issue with the analog rear out on some 5.1 models (SB022x), that is fixed in newer kx versions (3538j or higher). If you have one of these models, and you want to use ProFX, then you should be using kX version 3538j, and the latest ProFx (v3.05)).

Yup, that would be it. You should use kX version 3538j or higher (as I said above, you probably want 3538j since ProFX is not available for 3538k as of yet).

That did the trick however I did not catch the reccomendation of using "j" as opposed to "k". I installed "k". Profex is available in "k". Does it have some sort of issues. Should I revert to "j"? Do I need to uninstall "k" to install "j". I had to uninstall 3537 to get 3538 in.
Thanks
John

The bundled version of ProFX in 3538k, is an older buggy version. It is actually the same version that is included with 3538i/j, but there is a newer version (v3.05) of ProFx avaialble from the authors website (see the ProFX thread in the Effects and DSP forum), that is compatible with 3538j (but not k, as of yet). It is really up to you, if the bundled version works ok for you (or you can go without ProFX for now), than stick with 3538k, otherwise use 3538j (and yes, you should do the uninstall first when downgrading).

I'll add - that running Drivercleaner would not be a bad idea either.
