Soundfont and Volume problems !

I haven't been having much luck with the KX drivers.
First i could not use them with megafont Then even when using regular soundfonts with my sequencer i have strange problems ! : the other day i was using my sequencer and for some strange reason it crashed. Anfd for hours after that i had strange sounds coming out of my computer ! Iyt sounded as if a MIDI was playing and triggering severely distorted samples fom my GM soundfont. It sounded a bit like some electroacoustic music, which is interesting, but not what i want ! In any case the only way to stop the sound was to turn my PC off.
Also i have lots of problems with the overall volume ! Whenever i start winamp, my global volume is turned down to zero and i have to bring it back up ! And that's not all : it also happens almost everytime i open a new application ! if i open soulseek-> sound goes down. yahoo messenger ? -> sound goes down.. It's very annoying !
