EEK! Help! CD-spdif in problem

my soundcard is SB Live! value, os is Windows2000,I download kx drv 5.10.0.3528 and installed it.
I have connected the cdrom spdif out to soundcard's cd-spdif in hardware, turn on the 'cd digital in' switch in 'ins "n" out' properity page.but I can't hear anything when I play cd. and I turn on the "cd digital rec level" in recording,I can record the playing cd.
I can see the flopping peak level bar in analyzer, but when I switch to the other mode,I can't see the red bar as when I play mp3 files. All is remain in blue color.
What should I do to resolve this problem?

I is a known problem that cd roms have the digital out but it is not allway active, you may need yo update the firmware in order for it to work.

when I use the lastest Creative a1 driver to drive sb live, I can use cd digital in.so there is no problem with cdrom interface.

spdif in problem

if youn are using xp or 2000 the digital selection check box should not be checked (it reades the digital data from the ide not the spidif) this is located under the drive proerties, then the cd digital slider should work. also upgrade to 3529

thanks for your advice.
I had done all that you said. But the cd-digital-in still be in no-sounds.
but when I use record software to record sound, it does work.
so I guess the cd-digital-in switch option in kx does not work on my system.
don't know why.

>the cd-digital-in switch option - btw. there's no "the cd-digital-in switch option" in kx. I think your problem is about "swap front/rear" option. Like: you have it enabled by default but your speakers are still connected to line-out1. But all inputs are only sent to main output (which is line-out2 when "swap front/rear is on)... please read help/faq about that "swap" setting.

my problem is I can't hear the music from "cd digital in' interface in 'Ins "n" Outs' . the kx drv work very well when playing mp3 and midi file, playing game, etc.I just and only can't hear from using cd digital in.
and the hardware has no problem.
I had read the doc about the rear and front deference between kx drv and creative drv at the fist, so I had no problem with this option.
BTW, I like the sound of kx. If the cd spdif in works, It is perfect.^_^

AGAIN: "read help/faq about "swap fron/rear setting" - What output your main speakers are connected to?

by default, the rear/front swap swith is on,the speaker must connet to the rear output port of soundcard. to get better sound quality.

and I have try turn off the swap, connect the speaker to the front output port.It was the same.

one of my friend said kx work find on his system same as me.
I'll try reinstall the OS on my computer.I have install/uninstall to many driver/software in it.
I will try kx on a "clear" os.

Thanks for help

Oooh.
I had reinstall my OS.
now everything works well.
I don't know what's wrong I havd done.
And on the "older" os,when I adjust the vol level of cd-digital-in in 'Ins "n" Outs',it popup a messagebox(I don't remember the message on it),when I click to close it.the kx mixer auto kill itself.
so I am uing ver3528 now.
