??? Mix Inputs from multiple soundcards and output back to one of the soundcards

Does anyone have any idea how to mix inputs from more than one soundcard and output the result realtime to one of those soundcards, or even another soundcard? It seems such an obvious and simple thing to want to do, yet I've spent days trying to find a soultion, either hardware, software or both, but to no avail. Am I missing something? is there something inherent in PC/soundcard/PCI bus design that prevents this, or am I the first person in the history of computer audio to want to do this?

Any help, suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated, even if it's just to say that it definitely can't be done!

One other thing, do the kx drivers allow the live drive optical and coaxial S/PDIF inputs to function as separate inputs, i.e. both work concurrently? I thought they were an either/or option.

You can connect the internal digital outputs of one card to the internal digital inputs of another card and keep doing that in a chain... Or connect one card to the digital CD input and another one to the digital input available on those pins in the card...
