Oldie But Goodie
Hello All!

I'm new to these here parts, but I am wondering if any of you experienced types might give me a hand. There seem to be some many version of the SB line I'm not sure if there is a big difference? I need a good low-latency card, doesn't need to be the latest one. Only doing stereo, 16 and 24 bit with Kontakt.

Any suggestions- oh I gotta but 4 of these so I am trying to find a goodie but cheappie maybe ebay or something.

System Specs

any of the cards listed under "supported" on this page should do the job

in/out will be 16/48, however any sampling done on the computer will stay at the original quality

Ok so none have better latency than others? What do you mean by 16/48 in?

System Specs

16 bit 48khz in and out (you can play samples at 24 bit, but they'll be heard in 16 bit

and no card has better latency than another, all the relevant hardware is pretty much the same (same DSP processor)

hmmm... a2/a4 cards with p16v+I2S onboard should make it possible to record and playback in 24/96 mode, shouldn't they?

Not ASIO tho - so greater latency - but yes - WDM does work with 3528J with A2ZS.
edit: for clarity... 24/96 works in wdm for record and playback

btw, a2zs/a4 cards with original creative drivers DO support 24/96 record and playback through ASIO, correct?

I seen at least one version that DID work for 24/96 ASIO - yes.

edit - but on that machine - it contantly 'dropped out' in sonar - but it also did this in 16/48 as well... so.... IMHO it'll will be hit or miss...

Id be interested in hearing your feedback on it if you decide to give em a try.
