Setting up outputs for Traktor 3 (audigy2zs)
I've been using the kxproject drivers for a while now for music production. Now I'm into live mixing and I'm trying to set up my outputs for Traktor DJ Studio 3 (from Native Instruments). In the outputs section from the options menu i can select the left and right output for master, monitor, booth and record. I want the master on the speakers and the monitor on my headphones.
I can select from 'kX Out 00' until 'kX Out 15'. I've noticed that 00 to 09 are routed to my (standard lime-green) line out, so when i select those I got sound on my speakers. I've selected 00 and 01 for Master.
I now want the monitor to go to the headphones. I've connected the headphone jack to the black line out (is this correct?). Now whatever 'kX Out nr' I select, no sound will come from my headphone. I think this is where DSP or the kX router comes in, but I don't understand any of that. I want 2 of those Outs to go to my black line-out. I tried reading some guides on DSP a while ago but it didn't stay with me at all.
Can somebody help me? I'm very sure this can be done, I just hope someone here can explain me how to. So in short: I want to make two of the kX Out's go to my black line-out.
Thanks alot!

The rear (black port on back of card) channel would be FxBus (6/7) (or kX Out 6/7 in your software), but Surrounder (if using Surrounder) must be set to 5.1 Direct Path mode to use the outputs independantly.
BTW: The above would also depend on the "Toggle Swap Front and Rear" option in kxmixer.

I have toggled 'Swap front and Rear' mode OFF (I did that when I just installed the drivers). Where can I find the settings for Surrounder? EDIT: sorry I found it.
Thanks for your help Russ
Ok so now there is indeed sound from 'kX Out 6' and 7, however it's not really working like I want it to. I'm not sure if it's because of the software or kx, I'll let you know when I find out

Are you sure you know how to use Traktor properly? sound is played in the headphones only when marked as CUE'd. You can also preview tracks by double clicking on them.

set out 4/5 as your main out, and 6/7 as your monitor send - that should work

BTW: I am not sure which jack has the headphone amp on the A2ZS, but on my card it is the analog front jack, so (if it is the same with your card) you may want to connect the headphones to analog front (green), and the speakers to analog rear (black), and enable the "Toggle Swap Front and Rear" option.

Thanks alot guys I got everything working perfectly now. About the surrounder: I use the default values and 'Use Subwoofer output' is unchecked. I assume this is ok?
thanks again

The default preset is "2.0 Surround Mix", which does not use the Front/Rear/Center/Sub independantly (there will be some mixing), you should use the "5.1 - Direct Path" preset (or one of the other Direct Path presets, depending on how many channels you want to use (and whether you are using Surrounder or Surrounder+)).
Regarding the 'Use Subwoofer output" option, without it checked, nothing is sent to that channel, which is fine if you are not using the Sub channel, or Center/Sub as another independant stereo channel.
