kX Drivers and BF2

If you look at my sig you can see what kind of sound card i have (Sound BLaster Audigy 2 ZS Plat Pro) and i am using the most updated Creative drivers. Would you recommend the KX Drivers for online gaming like BF2?

Hi

I installed 3538j the other day on a Audigy 4 and played BF2

It worx 100% I noticed also EAX support, or at least enviromental-ish sound from bf2. (I didn't know EAX was implemented in kx)

Anyway 3538j works for me

Maddogg6 will become famous soon enough

No EAX in KX - I *think* eax is like dynamic and hardware accelerated reverbs - Or hardware accelerated doppler effects. But these (some??) things I beleive can be software driven via directsound, or A2D interface as well. But eax allows hardware acceleration of these effects.

Thats my understanding anyway, but Im NO expert either. Far from it.

And all because EAX is 'enbaled' in a program, doesnt mean its 'working'. IIRC, it was greyed out, but shown as 'checked' in BF2 options. The check doesnt mean it s on, just the default or the last state it was possible to set to.
But theres DEFINITLY no EAX support in KX due to patent/IP protections.

If gaming is your passion - KX is NOT recommended - KX is more aimed at musicians, or music creation, or those wishing to play with DSP programming.

Actually gaming is my passion and I absolutly love the KX drivers the audio sounds so much more clear than stock creative drivers.

Also mjproc do you set it to software or hardware in BF2?
