SB Audigy and ABIT KR7A Motherboards

Just a quick note - for those (few) who are still using Abit KR7A mbs (via KT-266A chipsets), there were serious issues with SB Audigy cards not being detected by the OS or the Soundblaster drivers.

These drivers fix that problem for me at least

I just reinstalled windows on my old computer and of course, ran into this problem yet again. Couldn't remember how I solved it last time, but the kX drivers work flawlessly. Excellent.

cheers

My son gave me a motherboard (PCChips M830lr) quite a while ago. He said that he could never get his SBLive installed with it and when he upgraded he pawned it off on me. I tried to install the Creative drivers and kX and had no luck. I looked for a fix like yours but never found it. That board used the SiS 735 chipset.

My son told me that board would accept an Audigy 1 but not an SBLive. It must have just been a problem with a particular revision of that board because I have read about other people successfully using the same board with Live cards.

I gave up and put an Ensoniq PCI sound card in it and gave it to my daughter who is still using it.
