Microphone Recording so sound in Nuendo3
hello all!
i've installed the latest driver (beta version) of kx asio drivers (KX Driver 3538J.rar) and i got it to work. there's one thing i didn't understand.. i have the mic conected to the soundboard i don't have a signal when i monitor it on the host program. i can hear it thru the mix table but it doesn't record audio track... can anyone help me in this? i already checked the basic mute/volumes/windows cfg and all is correct. i noticed one detail, might be of interest. when i click on the control panel\sounds and audio devices\sound recording\volume button nothing happens.... i can't ajust the levels. i can ajust the levels on the KX mixer though. The thing is that i hear the microphone sound on my speakers, but i can't record it in any recording software..... i apreciate your help! please reply by email also as i may loose track of this message.. thanks Bruno Rosa dragaoviajante@sapo.pt Last edited by AQU4MAN; May 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM. |

No not strange to me...
My guess is nuendo is using ASIO by default...Where Soundforge is probably using WDM. Read the one guide (in the link I posted before) about recording in an ASIO host - it shows an example of LOGIC - but the concepts are the same. The Summary of that guide: 1) Route AC97 signals to an unused ASIO port on Epilog in KX DSP. 2) Set Nuendo track input for the above ASIO port. The example suggests connecting AC97 line on Prolog to ASIO4/5 of Epilog - so Nuendos track input should be set to 'KX ASIO 4/5' If you dont see KX ASIO for a AUDIO TRACK input in nuendo - make sure nuendo has KX ASIO enabled in its configuration. |

hello again!
well.. i managed to do your recomendaton before you wrote it! i connected to asio 0 and 1, since 4 and 5 (as told in the manual) were already connected.I can't still record the micro... i have one more detail: when i open an old project in which i used asio4all as driver, or the multimedia asio driver for the recording, it shows (as i create a new audio track) the respective driver (asio4all or in/out), as when i recorded, and i can't change it to kx driver.. and... whare i see if nuendo has KX ASIO enabled in its configuration? and.. why did i use the asio4all drivers with minimal latency without scratch some weeks ago and now i have to put it on 93 or 128 to run without distortion?? this is really knocking in my head.. and i cant figure it out..... thanks again ![]() Bruno Last edited by AQU4MAN; May 4, 2006 at 09:39 PM. |

Once you switch to KX ASIO - all should work - I never used ASIO4ALL either, so... I can't be much help with that either. |
