cant install drivers! help.

Hey.
sorry for this (probably) stupid question, but its totaly impossible to install the kx drivers on my new dell pc.

the installer doesnt do anything at all, and the manual install just gives me the message that my audio card can not be initialized.
i have a SBlive 5.1. however i do not know the specific card version, as i got it preinstalled in my dell pc, and no documentation at all, exept is says SBlive 5.1

my specs are :

Intel Pentium 4 processor 2530 MHz 512Kb Cache, 533MHz FSB
Intel 850-E chipset/533MHz FSB
512MB 533MHz RDRAM PC1066 (2x256MB)
128MB ATI Radeon 9700 TX
MS Windows XP Home
Sblive 5.1

i was really intrested in the Kx project, as i could not afford a new soundcard , i thought i was doomed to use the SBlives horrible latency and unstable sync. however, i have tried to install all the kx driver 5.1 versions , but the same result everytime.
nothing...
all creative stuff is uninstalled, so that shouldnt be a problem.
i have the debug stuff in my system directory, and i got direct x 8.1.
and the kx mixer and software is also nowhere to be seen.
when i manualy install the drivers , windows copies all the relevant files, but when i restart the pc, there is nothing there anymore, no drivers installed!

i would be very glad if somebody could lend a helping word or two, as i have a powerhouse pc, that i would really like to get the most of, untill i can afford a pro soundcard.

thanx very much!

Is this Live! CT0200? Or SB0200? Because, this is OEM Live! card and it is not even similar to normal cards... not sure if it is supported.

cant install drivers still!

hey, thanx for answering.

yeah, i have uninstalled the creative drivers, absolutely.
i just found out, my sb card nr is SB0203 , whatever that means.

it just refuses to install anywhere , at all, manually, kxsetup file, nothing works, no result at all.

very sad about this, the kx drivers sounds like a very helpful and good thing.!

I am not sure, but there is a possibility that future release may support your card too... not sure... developers will know.

so that means...

so that means...that my SB 0203 is not supported?
what diffirantiates this card from the other sb cards?

i also have an old original SB live value card, perhaps i should switch to this?

I only had that problem under Windows 98 SE. It appears that it don't support Windows 98 anymore! Under Windows 2000 and Windows XP, was fine with my SoundBlaster Live SB0100.
