Entry 2 – date unknown – morning of day 2

No luck in finding my identity so far. I forgot to mention yesterday that I was found in the wreckage of a death truck, which are usually filled with corpses – imagine the surprise of my savior when he found me amongst the rest of the death truck passengers, not only in one piece, but actually alive. I do know why nobody tries to leave this hellhole on earth though – apparently the military (which country is behind this?!) are keeping the Zone sealed off from the outside with orders to shoot on sight. I don’t know what their agenda is, but in the last 12 hours I had two run ins with them – both times they shot first, probably saving the questions for later. Guess I won’t get any answers from them either.

My PDA crapped out on me again, so it looks like I made the right choice when I decided to keep my journal in a small notebook I found in an abandoned building. It might be the radiation or the fact that this PDA was on me when the death truck crashed, but the more I use it, the harder I find it to believe that I owned it on purpose prior to the crash.

The GPS map that the thing displays is very hard to navigate and I already got lost once because I misread it. The auto-voice recording software installed is nice though, so unless the whole device dies on me I should have access to most of the conversations I had even days later.

Judging from my survival instincts in battle I was probably a mercenary of some kind before the crash. The raid I was part of yesterday went well, but we did lose some men to the well dug-in bandits. I had some problems with aiming at first and I wasted tens of bullets on only 3 guys. Firing a weapon is definitely not as easy as the rest of the raid made it seem. I’m currently on my way to the largest human settlement in the Zone. I was told I’d get answers to my questions there and perhaps somebody might even know who I am.
