Entry 17 – 27th October 2012

I’ve spent the last 10 entries writing about the things I learned, about my returning memories and about the Zone. I never considered the fact that 5, 10, perhaps even 100 years from now somebody might be reading this, not even knowing how the Zone looked at the time of writing. Even now, years after the Chernobyl reactor failed the area surrounding it looks fairly normal. The plants don’t seem mutated (although I am no biologist, so they might be) and except for the constant haze in the distance you would never be able to guess what happened here. I stole some pictures of the zone from another Stalker – I hope they will still be a part of this diary when somebody reads it.

This could be due to the radiation, but for the last week or so I have been noticing a lot of detail on everything. The walls of the buildings I visit seem almost alive with detail. If I was older I’d probably miss out on all of this, and the lightning strikes wouldn’t impress me so much with the shadows they cast around the Zone.

My trips between the various parts of the zone don’t take a lot of time (I’ve seen older stalkers move about waaaay slowly), but I do tend to be groggy every time I wake up after a long rest.

I also heard reports that some of youngest stalkers out there constantly pass out, murmuring something about Vista as they hit the ground. Hopefully somebody will develop a cure for that.
