GH Review: Assassins Creed (Xbox 360 and PS3)

It all started with RPGs. Sword wielding, dragon slaying dungeon crawlers where players got to save the land over and over again. Then with advances in technology these fantasy expeditions slowly crawled from underground to the vast expanses of the top-side world. With trends moving farther away from fantasy with each passing year it was only a matter of time before this free-roaming concept was taken to a new, more popular environment. The result? Grand Theft Auto was born! Freed from the shackles of earning experience and leveling up, the game became a smash hit. It seems however that things run in cycles here, so the latest GTA (San Andreas) had us earning experience again (in a way) and building up our character with various skills/statistics. Stick the thing into a medieval environment and you have a pretty natural follow up to the classic RPGs of decades past. And voila, this is exactly what Assassin’s Creed aims to do!

The game has amazing graphics and animations but that's about it. The big problem with this game is it's repetitive nature, i got bored half way through.

it was a bit tedious i have to agree, I beat it though and I enjoyed it more than most games. I ended up just taking on as many guards as possible, however the combat was rather simple as it was all about counterattacking. I think I counted 55 bodies in one courtyard once and I got hit about 3 times by mistimed counters. Wish I took a screenshot of that

yeah in the last missions the amount of guards in the citys gets really insane..lol finished the game, but won't be touching it again, was really disapointed with the game to be honest, yet another overhyped game i guess. Mass Effect on the other hand really surprissed me, one of my top games this year and i'm not even an RPG fan.

nice game somehow it managed to really burn me out cause it was so hard for me to play. lol or it was just me not paying much attention because of the number of enemies they throw at yah. but it was nice loved the graphics and sounds.
