I spent over £600 in the last year, and if the 360 titles keep coming, it looks like i'll be spending the same again this year lol

DudeBoyz is on a distinguished road

I voted $101-$200

I used to spend more - a lot more - cause I'd buy into the hype and think the game would be "all that". But since I got broadband (DSL), I can download all those huge demos and try them out first. In about 3 out of 5 cases, maybe 4 out of 5, I play through the demo and realize I don't actually like the game enough to buy it, or if I do like it a little, I don't touch the title until it drops below $30, preferably below $20.

Even though DSL costs me $30 a month for 1.5/384k, it may actually save me that or more in game purchases because I can download and play the demos.

I could not imagine doing that with Dial-Up.

all of our games we buy "for the kids" *ahem*
only games that are actually mine proper are a few ps2 titles and CS:S i think.

but if you count all the games we buy for the house as a whole, it way, way exceeds £500 easy. which is actually a little bit scary.

I voted for $101-200 CAD.

Games purchased in the last year:
UT2K4: $10
Far Cry: $10
C&C: The First Decade: $40
Deus Ex: The Invisible War: $2
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines: $30
Civilization Chronicles: $70
Civilization IV: Warlords: $30

That puts me at $192, which is more than I usually spend in a year on games. Usually I cap my game purchases at $30 for games I really like, but the Civilization and C&C packs both included every game of their respective series.

well.... after going through my list of games.. over the course of 1997ish right up to current day, i've only enough to fill a small bag...

and in the last year, i've only purchased.....apparently only 2 games.... both of them 39.99 each.

well, after WoW, and a few other games, probably somewhere around $350.00 US. Also pick a few things up for the kids now and then, so that is included in the calculation. If I ever end up getting and Xbox, I'm sure that figure will be more.

I pretty much stick to Greatest Hits titles for my Playstation 2. $19.99 per title. I'm patient and like to wait for the deal.

Up until 2006 I was spending well over 500.00 a year on games and they were cheaper a few years back.
In 2006 I spent half that and do not play any of them very much. The quality PC games are far and few between, at least with my type of game. I know there was some pretty good RPG's, I just don't play them. I have found more free games that I like this year than retail big budget games. In 07 I plan on buying UT3, Stalker, ETQW, MOH:Airborne, TDU. TDU is not set in stone unless they get the online portion of the game running better. I kinda like the Infernal demo to so hopefully the game is just as good. There are a few others that I would like if they actually do come out this year.

The last game I bought was WoW : TBC. I am not planning on getting any more games this year.

That put me in the 101-200 category.

lol, all the games i got last year, i got for free . no, not like that guys . Some came in packaged in the hardware purchased bundled for free, or i got them as a b-day or x-mas present. The only game i did buy was Guild Wars for my sister for her x-mas present.

So, i'm in the 1-100 category

Since this is my only current expense that is not under "bills", about 500 I would say it is about right.

i voted 100-200
used to be more but the amount of quality game releases that i play has gone down dramatically & i refuse to pay40 -50 a game then pay another $100+ a year to play it - plus get all the probs associated with most/all online games.
i do love gw tho play it all the time.

I spend upwords of 800+ per year. I tend to buy them new, beat them in a few days, and sell them off for around $10 less than I paid to friends who simply wait for me to get it first.

heck sitting here at my desk right now is about 200 PC games, 30 PS2, 130 PSX, 65 SNES, 100+ NES, 50 GameBoy, 40+ Sega/Sega CD/32X/et al., and the countless others. Yes all but the PC/PS2 games are in boxes stacked up next to my desk.

I need a life..

Depends but I went for the 101-200 options because I buy about 4 games a year but they have to be good ones with lots of playability fr me to consider buying, I won't buy something that will give me 10hrs of gameplay and that I'll never pick up again, but I will buy games like Oblivion and Med Total War II because I know I'll play them for 100's of hours

wierd thing about this poll is that different numbers mean different amounts for each country. like 500 au in games would be like 200-250 US and god knows what in pounds or euros
