Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter for PC - Gone Gold!

The PC version of Croteam's seriously chaotic FPS Serious Sam HD is now gold, according to an earlier tweet from publisher Devolver Digital.
Powered by the new Serious Engine 3, the high-definition remake tells the story of Sam "Serious" Stone's journey back to ancient Egypt to battle Notorious Mental and the Sirian army, and of the excessive and bloody carnage that ensues.

Now if they made a complete pack in this HD Revamp then this may be a little more worthwhile...

Just a shame the video was a little short. It just don't show off enough of the new enhancements..

Re: Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter for PC - Gone Gold!

For me I find it a bit stupid to sell an old game just to support higher resolution. Companies that respect themselves release free patches to add this.

Btw , I tried SS II and got bored of it. It doesn't suite my style.

Re: Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter for PC - Gone Gold!

It hasn't just been patched to add new resolutions, it was completely redone with their new engine which should support all the modern technologies, so while it is essentially the same game, visually and from the technological point of view it is completely different. This wasn't possible in 2001:

By comp_ali's criterion, I don't think there are any self respecting game companies.

That might be not too far from the truth.

Not because they love customers, They just do what make customers eager to buy their upcoming games by providing free support to the current games. It is commercial tactic.

Re: Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter for PC - Gone Gold!

This game looks fantastic (graphics). The original looked really really good when it was released too. I don't have the original any more, but if this is sold for a good enough price, I might get it eventually.
