It looks like i'll finally be retiring my much worn Magical Trevor 'WHERE IS THE COW???' Mousemat.
This prize couldnt have came at a better time with me re-discovering my love of FPS and strategy games. I'll post up pics when it arrives.

Postman came a knockin today

. How in the name of all that is good did I manage before I won this mouse mat??? It's quite literally opened up a whole new world to me and made me wonder how i've managed in the past. But now before I say anymore as promised some pictures.

The daddy of all mouse mats dwarfs everything in my room and will make a great blackout blind if hung in a window:

And just to give some idea of scale. This is my poor magical trevor mousemat and logitech mx620 mouse lost in the vast landscape that is my new pride and joy:

As mentioned briefly in my introduction it's funny how you don't notice how wrong something is until you move on to something better. Case in point - just out of curiosity after an hour of general pc stuff and a bit of gaming I took my new mat off the table and put the old mat back, I was staggered to discover how often I was reaching the edge off the mat and doing the lift and shuffle back to centre. Who ever decided mouse mats should be the restrictive size they are? It's thanks to companies like steelseries who aren't afraid to break the mold that we as pc users and gamers advance and better ourselves. Whilst I was one of the lucky ones in winning this mouse mat I beg of my fellow DH'ers, if you have the desk space rush out and buy this product. You'll never look back and may just be amazed out how pleasurable and productive your gaming time becomes.

Just to point out that the flash and ultra high detail of my camera (Ricoh Caplio R7) have left the mouse mat looking a little washed out, rest assured that the actual product is very deeply and richly coloured. Also i'd like to mention the very cool packaging the product comes in, unfortunately it's downstairs and i'm too drunk to tackle the stairs but the mat comes in a plastic case with a cardboard backing that details the company history and gives info on the featured Korean guy on the mat (Jang 'moon' Jae ho. Warcraft 3 player).

Looking at the pictures online i've just noticed that the mousemat dwarfs my G15 keyboard which itself is an absolute monster and it even manages to make my 24" Dell monitor look smaller.

I got my mousepad too! I didn't realize it was so big... Doesn't fit on my desk, and will probably have to take it off every time I do my artwork. I'll post pictures after I get done with my test later on today.

mine's huge too, have to place my keyboard over part of it.

I've been using Sharkoon elite (cloth) mouse mat. Anyway performance-wise this steelseries' very smooth, picks up small movements more than my old mat. Small movements create more acceleration on this mat, for games like CSS I find this mat better than my previous one. For team fortress 2 i still go back to my old mat though.

Overall very pleased, i'd say it's better than my old one.

Kinda explains why the rrp is higher too
