Reps from the UK PR firm for Eidos have confirmed that they're asking publications not to release any reviews for Tomb Raider: Underworld below an 8/10 until Monday. The firm says they're doing so at the request of Eidos, which is trying to manage the scores for as long as it can. The game is currently sporting a 78 on Metacritic.

I wouldn't buy it anyway since I have no interest in the series after the first game, but yes, you got that right, now I will play it to see how bad it really is and I hope many more will end up not paying a single (insert currency) for this.

Unless it's a title I've already made my mind up about (like Fallout 3) I always wait until after release because I don't trust pre-release reviews for this very reason!

EIDOS must think it's a bad game to begin with if they expect so many 'negative' reviews to come out that they are 'bribing' companies to hold off on the bad rep.

The games should all stand or fall on their own merits, anyway.
