Wow, I would have thought in todays Widescreen gaming world (Thanks mainly to consoles to be fair) that most games would be properly widescreen, especially games that also natively support WS for their console versions.

Strange, but hey, I expect that fix to magically appear in an official patch soon.

Many console games do not support properly WS resolutions/aspect ratios. Even Bioshock didn't for the PC till the patch, months after the fan made patch, and I don't know if they fixed the 360 version ever.
Laziness and/or incapable.

you need to adjust it to

X 1.31
Y 1.253

or whatever works for you.

This is well worth doing the game is much more playable, especially vehicles.

Does make the difference, just remember not to use the forcewidescreen 1 command

Many 'support' widescreen. But the FOV is out of whack. So it really isn't widescreen.

Hopefully 16:9 ratios will work.
