What we heard: Getting its PlayStation 3 SKUs in order has been a serious challenge for Sony. After leading off with a $499 20GB and $599 60GB model in North America and Japan in November 2006, Sony abandoned the former in March 2007 by launching solely in Europe the 60GB unit, which lacked the Emotion Engine backward-compatibility functionality of its counterparts. The 20GB SKU was officially abandoned in the US in April 2007 and in Japan in January 2008.
