PS3 games "infinitely more fun" than Wii says Sony Chairman
Source: CVG
_____________
Sony chairman Sir Howard Stringer is, no doubt, more than relieved that PS3's fortunes appear to be turning around - PS3 outsold Wii in Japan over the month of November, the first time Sony's hardware has overturned Nintendo's position, and Stringer is "much more confident" about PS3's future.
Meanwhile, Stringer is bullish in the face of Nintendo's wider appeal, stressing that "PlayStation 3 will come into its own because its [high-end games] are infinitely more fun, demanding and exciting" in comparison to Wii's offerings.
Nintendo's struggle to supply enough consoles to meet the demand is also keeping Stringer warm at night. In Tokyo yesterday, as reported in UK newspaper The Guardian, he informed attendees at a Sony press conference that he is "happy the Wii seems to be running a bit short of hardware". We don't doubt it.

Only people with small dicks need great graphics and not gameplay to be amused.

He would say that wouldn't he, heh, as for the PS3 sales, November wont be repeated in Japan for a good few months now Wii Fit has hit, and of course the Nov NPD results will knock Sony back a bit too.

well ..... the thing is that there is an ABUNDANCE of PS3 consoles around here because no one really wants them with the exception of a few good titles. pretty easy to get them since they're building up on the shelves like dust
others buy them for the superior HD capabilities.
the wii is the better console, if there was enough of them, they'd sell. my cousin took a whole week to find a wii and we saw at least 50 boxes of PS3s during that whole mess....

ive seen enough of the wii to say that ill never own one.
im of the opinion that, (which all of my friends share my idea of, including the one that owns a wii and hates it) if i im going to have friends over to go bowling, play tennis/baseball/etc, then damn it, were heading out to the park or bowling alley to do just that, and not stand around in the damn living room acting like were playing the game.
as for the wii fit, i dont know all the particulars of it, but i work out in front of my tv or computer with videos playing. works well enough for me.
not to mention all the damn controllers for the system. theres already the remote, nunchuck, zapper, fit board, and i believe i heard theres a steering wheel also. thats 5 damn controllers, and the system is barely a year old. how many more controllers are there going to be next year? another 5 that only a select few games will use?

Ah right, so games like Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, No More Heroes, Super Smash Brother Brawl, Zack and Wiki, Guitar Hero 3, Resi 4 (Wii Edition), Trauma Centre, Fire Emblem, BWii, Mario Strikers et al do not exist then?
The Wii is more than just Wii Sports and Wii Fit, much, much more, and even discounting them, you sound like you haven't even touched a Wii, I may be Biased as I got one on Dec 8th 2006 (UK release) but I sure as hell can say, short of going out bowling, golf, baseball etc (Which not only is expensive but is time consuming to organise and not accessible for many), Wii Sports is the most fun you can have with multiple people ever, the Wii is a great party console, with games like Wii Sports, Mario Party 8 etc, and yet already has some serious "proper" games in its library 2008 will bring more of both i'm sure.
As for PS3, I will buy one next year, GT5 is too tempting and the combination of Wii/PS3 is a balanced gaming setup in my opinion, both have their place in the current gen, 360...well, its an FPS machine, and thats what PC is there for imho,

Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, No More Heroes, Super Smash Brother Brawl, Zack and Wiki, Guitar Hero 3, Resi 4 (Wii Edition), Trauma Centre, Fire Emblem, BWii, Mario Strikers et al do not exist then? - never even heard of half of those games till now so i went and looked them up. im not missing anything. im sick of the mario crap, i dont particularly like metroid any more (i own 1 and 2, but just couldnt bring my self to finish them) NMH looks like crap, i hate SSM, zack and wiki also looks like crap to me, i hate the DDR/GH games, already own resident evil 4, i couldnt care less about trauma center, fire emblem, mario strikers, etc.
Wii is a great party console - im going to end this right here. fuck party games. i do NOT go to parties to play a damn video game. i play games because i dont have anything else to do. i dont go to parties to play games. (lans being the exception, but i havnt been to one of those in atleast 6 years)

The thing that you guys don't seem to be pointing out is that the PS3 is for "gamers" and the Wii is for everyone else. The two really are mutually exclusive, IMO.
If you look at units sold/demand/attention its getting, people do seem to prefer the Wii. I got one this X-Mas for my kids. Because they find it fun, its easy to controll, and its freakin affordable. They could care less about graphics and such, and really just want an accessable system with fun titles. The Wii is absolutely brilliant that way.
Every system has great titles. Don't get all caught up in what the head honcho of Sony said, he's just doing his job.

i like wii because all the REAL sick games that i love are on PC, i could care less about the other PS3 games, most good ones are ports or made from budgetless companies
i like hanging out, i like playing games with my friends, and we all like the wii, cheap, simple but addicting like dayum.
just buy a controller and get gaming for PC stuff, easy as that, PCs get both HD DVD and Blu-Ray if people just spend that extra couple dollars at the building of it.
all hail PC, i think most everyone can probably agree with that

oohh is that anti-badger spray?
i agree with viking, wii & ps3(along with 360) are mutually exclusive. they are not in the same class. wii has its niche all to itself wich is why it kicks ass there but to compare it directly to the other 2 is a mistake. nintendo obviously had no intention of competing with them & made a very good business decision in not doing so.
as far that whole bowling, tennis, sports thing... well no wonder more & more kids are obese & have little athletic ability. playing it occasionaly is ok but nobody under 30 should be playing those games on a regular basis. get out & actually do something real.
please.

I live a pretty busy life, with lots of work and time for exercise is sometimes just not there. In those periods i play Wii Boxing with some small weights strapped to my arms and it's great exercise, which keeps me in shape and healthy. Where before I would gain quite a pounds when stressed at work, I now keep my weight down.
