A demo for Need for Speed ProStreet is now available, offering a test drive of the next installment in the long-running, high octane series. Just for those who has yet to try this demo.I had made 2 downloads this morning from fileshack's servers.. Both were corrupt.

The file downloaded fine from Gamershell, the game however....hmm, it's fun, and a challenge, but only because the controls are totally rubbish, heh.

I was downloading the demo for 5 hours and 5% before finish (gamershell) it just stopped. I couldn't resume it of course, so I said....perhaps some time in the future.

From what I have read though, the game properly supports different aspect ratios, so if you have a widescreen monitor, extra bonus for you.

i forgot how stabby EA makes me.

1024x768 everything OFF or on LOW, BILINEAR filtering, and the game still runs like shit. 60fps at one spot, 20fps at another. the cars handle like absolute shit also.

i had hopes of this being a good NFS... kind of like Most Wanted was.

IMO Most Wanted wasn't good, it was just better.
The first remains the best in the series.

Sigh.. this is getting like Maddon at this point. Instead of re-hashing NFS every year, why not start a next gen series of Road Rash again?.. Chains, bats and kicks FTW. Come on EA .. get a clue.

true... most wanted wasnt great, it was just better. id like to see them bring back the old Hot Pursuit stuff, that was by far the best if you ask me.

So far i have yet to finish a single race without being Totaled.Partly due to the controls being a little unresponsive.

Ok so far this demo is lacking the playability of most wanted.I do like the inclusion of visual damage,but even this could be a touch better.

At this time im not sure if i will add this to my wanted list.Seeing as crysis is about 10 days away this is my priority game for this month.

whats the matter? dont like seeing the rear bumper ripped off and your mufflers just floating in mid air and not connected to anything?

They try to make games more and more for a broader audience but they do it too much and no one wants them. Or likes them. My guess is that next years' NFS will be less realistic than Super Cars. And with less responsive controls too.

Nope not just that... It's not just the external damage.. I think think the graphics of the engine placement (whish looks to small for a bmw m3 in comparison) and the chasis is a little to dull.
