GH Review: BioShock (Xbox 360 and PC)
Read The Review Here
______________________
Coming from one of the most consistently innovative and exciting developers out there: Irrational Games (now 2K Boston), Bioshock is, on the face of it, a conventional shooter. Compared to games like STALKER with its A-Life AI and open-ended structure, Bioshock's confined environments and set-pieces might look old fashioned and tired. You might also consider the 5 or 6 distinct enemy types boring and a bit stingy. With most shooters you'd be right, but Bioshock transcends all of these concerns by being the most compellingly immersive shooter since HL2.

Great, review! I was waiting for this one. Very informative without giving away any spoilers, and I'm glad you gave it a fair score, which is a fantastic rating yet not perfect like the other sites are giving it.

I love this game. At first most people think that this is just a straight FPS, and they breeze through the game in 20 hours, but if you take the time to get into the different Plasmids, and learn how to combine using them with traditional weapons, or start to get creative with using the Plasmids (which in quite a lot o areas of the game it's more benificial to you in the long run that you do so), there's just so much fun to be had here.

Well, as I mentioned in the other thread, great review (especially by not giving spoilers, something done in other reviews I have read). I picked up BioShock this afternoon, so I'll get into it tonight.

I hope you have a blast with it, I beat it on the xbox 360 a while ago and loved it (although its not without a few flaws). It would be my second favourite game this year so far.
I might replay it on the PC, but reading about this copy protection has put me off buying it tbh.......

Just read on the Steam Bioshock forums that 2K promised to remove the Securom protection in the future once the sales slow down.

I heard about the copy protection being romoved as well, and thats why I bought it.
The game is really beautiful though. I just put in a new Audigy SE (up from on board sound), and the difference is stunning, even for a $30 card.
I love all the references to Ayn Rand's, Atlas Shrugged. The game appears to be based on it, or at least the philosophy and social beliefs. The art design too, is strikingly familiar to the cover of the book I have. You could say Ryan is Rand's doppleganger.

I played the demo and loved it!
The only reason why I don't really want to buy it is because of the price. Since it will not play on my PC I would buy it for 360 but I think $60 is just to much for a single player game... Maybe when the price comes down or I can find it used I will buy it!

I just wanted to point out that the link is broken trying to get to this page...
If you click the Replies on gaming heaven it goes to a blank page and then you must click the title above...
Know what I am talking about?

It sounds like a good game, though I personally don't like horror that much, and find it a pity that a lot of good games are horror games.

I wouldn't really class it as a "horror" game, certainly not in the sense I would resident evil and the ilk.

It does have it's fair share of "HOLY SH** WHERE DID HE COME FROM" moments, especially a few scripted scenes that pop up here and there (two medical pavilion encounters that happen when exploring some of the extra areas almost made me shit my pants).
